If you haven't already got it, let me tell you about the amazing Microsoft Voice Command. Before I go on, let's make it clear: this is not the pre-installed Voice Dialler and there's no fiddly teaching it certain words. This is an absolutely AWESOME program, of the 2 or 300 commands I given it so far, it's got ONE wrong (and that was largely my fault) * +

You can open ANY PROGRAM on your device with it, check your signal/battery strength, ask it to list your appointments or simply ask it what time it is! Now like me, you may have absolutely no faith in voice commands on mobile so I made this (pretty cr*p) video of it in action: http://ri.ms/zxgj (535kb 3gp) * +

You need to install the program to DEVICE MEMORY, then assign a button for the command and you're away - in the vid above I ask it the time, tell it to open messaging, play Dizzee Rascal and open calculator, all of which it performs flawlessly. You can ask it to show a contact or call it, open Opera, just about anything. Best voice recognition I've ever come across. * +

Download: http://ri.ms/xpid (link to 4.2mb .cab file on cr*pidshare). Any questions, feel free to ask, unless the question's 'will this work on smartphone?' as I haven't the faintest idea.. * +

Oh I forgot, you CAN also set it to read out the sender and subject of your emails and texts, but the weird robot chicks voice is so distressingly incomprehensible that you'll probably uncheck that option, it'll also read out the caller name behind your ringtone, but you wouldn't want that for the same reason. * +

I must admit, because I'm usually well-mannered I always say thank you after it's given me the time or told me my battery level :) It's awfully impressive on showing your contacts info - you don't have to record anything or tech it, it just shows or calls everyone when you say (for example) 'show Jane' or 'call balance'. Can't stop playing with it. * +

Fantastic for music playing too - you can say the artist or track (and it recognizes something as esoteric as Ozric Tentacles immediately) or you can say 'Play jazz' or 'play reggae' or 'next' to go to the next track. * +
