I don't think it can be unlocked that way. If she's been with att for at least 6 months, diall 611 from your handset and ask for customer care. Under Federal Law, they have to give her the unlock code. * +

Not as far as I'm aware. I would go to a store that carries used phones and see if they can unlock it or try an online unlocker. * +
