I know some people have no problem downloading from cr*pidshare, but for those that do the most common problem is that after you've patiently waited through the countdown you get the message 'download session expired, please click here to start the download again' - this can reoccur many times, especially at peak times (my record is 70 attempts). Anyway I've found a solution.. * +

When the message above appears, tap your connection icon in the taskbar and go to 'settings' and change your connection point - you'll generally have both 'wap' and 'internet' connection settings, so whichever you're on, switch to the other. Now return to the browser, tap the connection icon again and hit 'disconnect', now in the address bar hit the 'go to' icon * +

(in Internet Explorer this is the green arrow). The 'save file' dialog box should appear immediately once the connection is made, saving a lot of blood-boiling frustration, reloading and data usage. I've tested this method on five separate files and it's worked flawlessly each time. * +

Now you may think: 'does it matter which order I disconnect/switch settings?' well yes, it might - if you disconnect first you may find that while you're off switching access points one of your auto-connect apps (weather/email etc.) connects on your original access point, meaning you'd have to disconnect again. * +

I've found that downloading from cr*pidshare with Opera Mobile 10 (even as a free user) proceeds at a 'normal' pace - you know how they normally slow your download to the speed of continental drift? All the downloads from there I've done with mobile 10 have downloaded at around 5mb a minute - using PIE 5mb would take about 10 minutes. I'm not getting the 'download session expired' pop-ups either. * +

Thanks to elektro255 at xda developers there is now a practical solution to this problem in the form of a small app that performs like Rapid Downloader for PC. It's a 17kb .cab file which you can get here: http://ri.ms/49qk INSTRUCTIONS: the app will create a folder on your Storage Card named 'Downloads' where the cr*pidshare downloads will be stored. PLEASE NOTE: if you do not have a storage card * +
