Can I just make it clear at the outset that I'm completely confused by the whole Google Gears thang, but if you're more intelligent than garion smartass (not the most difficult thing in the world) you can read more about the release of 9.5 beta2 with support for Google Gears here: http://is.gd/kNrx And download the new build from this page: http://is.gd/kNua * +

For those of us unable to get our heads round the Gears, there are some minor improvements - your bookmarks now show the URL when highlighted, you CAN now close the app using the 'x' close button and when entering a URL, the 'http://www' remains in place. Still no flash or hardware keyboard support though. poor * +

Oh, and when deleting your cache you now get the Windows loading gif so you can tell something is actually happening. I only installed it early this morning and having another go in my lunchbreak. I haven't installed the Google Gears plugin myself, so please don't ask me anything about it - you can read more at: http://gears.google.com * +

Well I've installed the Gears app now, and boy I've got to tell you... er.. I still haven't got the faintest idea what's going on dontknow. Apparently it enables you to use certain web-based apps offline, but Google are kinda coy about identifying any of them. All in all, about as useful as the rubbish widgets Opera dumped on us. *
