sound quality mainly depends on how good the mp3 is encoded and the headphones you use. i encode my mp3s at 320kbps and use sony headphones. my tytn II has excellent sound quality. im sure the diamond is as good or better. wait for the htc touch pro thoughy thats going to be everything the duamond is missing * +

the NOKIA 5700 ExpressMusic has a dedicated audio enhancement chip thats why it has great sound quality, i doubt the Diamond would have beta sound than it, but it will probably have average sound like most WMs. * +

Well here is how HTC TyTN II stacks against some other handsets in a loudness test.
