No they dont have a need or responsibility to tell cause they never promoted their phones for wap but only 3 services and in oz 3 phone brochures state out all functions of each phone one of them is mobile internet and clearly the nec doesnt have it it dont even have a browser setting in da menu or any bookmark function all da settings are factory programmed for 3 and 3 only * +

so if anyone bought the nec for wap its their own stupidity i bought the motorola a835 off 3 before even though that has browser set up it still wont access most sites so its my own fault i didnt read their brochure or ask questions before buying * +

The nec was very successful at its time cause its the first 3g phone thats a small decent size thats why ppl bought them so they didnt get ripped off da phone served its purpose its just better ones are out now but still da nec over all is cr*p its feels like a toy * +

No 3 didnt have any obligation to anyone, true. I suppose most people just dont ask, they just assume it must be wap capable cos its a camphone and does everything else. Just shows how many people buy blindly. The message is clear, check the small print. Although that wont tell you there is no wap. I think people are so excited at the price of 3 phones that they rush into it without any research * +

Because i work in the industry i knew the facts long before i bought my 3 phone. And anyone else who has a genuine interest would have usually known. But in saying that we all get caught out sometimes. I bought an AIWA stereo a year ago that was 300 pound. I was amazed and perplexed when i discovered there was no auto reverse on the tape decks. * +

When i contacted AIWA they simply told me people dont play tapes anymore i was gutted. Not only that, but there is no continous play. I have since bought a 'proper' stereo, a TECHNICS! *
