i got i mate sp5,this is ma specs:wifi,240x320,17 mb i can use,AKU 2 rom etc.....my prob is,it dont support EDGE,and every where i look on the internet i read it supports edge,if mine supports it how do i activate it or what should i do to get it,i live in an edge area,coz i c on other phones the E icon mine shows the G.any help on this one? * +

its down to your network provider, if they dont offer it you cant get it. simple really * +

i use vodacom,its fine i dont think mine supports it,coz in ma manual there s nothin bout edge, * +

It usually doesn't say so in the manual for some reason. Ur phone def has EDGE, its just Voda. Voda have focussed more on 3G and HSDPA so there's not much EDGE coverage. Maybe u do have EDGE though and arent realising it, cuz i thing ur phone shows the G for GPRS or EDGE * +

you sure you glt those speeds rite? ive never seen up speeds faster than down speeds on any device. and you sure its not 7.5Kb/s because thats the avarage speed of gprs not edge. * +

im real sure tested it,with opera mini on testmy org and other speedtest sites,i also thought how can it be possible,that down can be slower than up,i dont have gprs settings only got the apn,i wondered howecome i pay R2 a mb,and when im on the net they still charge me alot of money any idea s. * +

speed tests are known for being wrong, also like i said they may have don it in kb/s instead of KB/s it makes a big difference *
