Hey everyone. I have a pretty wide and eclectic interest in music and will listen to anything at least once. But a lot of people I have talked to say they like only one genre of music. Is that even possible in this day and age? Thoughts and views please :-) * +

I've always found it STAGGERING that some people only listen to one genre of music - it's a bit like those people you hear about on Freaky Eaters or something who live on a diet of only sausages, deeply weird.. I can however understand having a PREFERENCE for one type of music, but to exclude all others is irrational. * +

I think its important to have a versatile taste in music, metal will always be my preference but I listen to all sorts * +

I think there's also a lot of confusion surrounding genres, often due to marketing - many of my favourite artists don't fit into definable categories; genre benders if you will.. . Last night I was listening (not for the first time) to the superb 'Inlandish' by Roedelius/Story which could be classed as almost anything: ambient. electronic, classical, acoustic - everything EXCEPT what it's actually filed under in record stores, which weirdly is 'DANCE'.. * +
