Perhaps most of the tired rubbish that sewers up the airwaves and video channels is based on 'love' (much more likely a debased quasi-sexual motif) but you could investigate more erudite areas of music; progressive rock for instance, where you'll find tales of giant man-eating plants, gods, monsters and socialism.. * +

Well, a real love song to me must be very personal, sensual and pure...kinda like pop or some bolero. Not that rock stuff...more like passionate pop or poetic hymns to love gods and angels ;) * +

Not all songs are based on love tho. But many of them are based on moaning about love and exs, and sex, very few are singing the beuty of love. * +

true, the rock music sings abt a large variety of subjects, it can give an ego boost as well, due it's rythm but u have to be careful wit the bands u chose. i recommend Nightwish, Delain, Within Temptation, Epica. and one of my fave love songs is Heart Unyielding by Silentium. Beutiful balad.

fk this s**t. i just listen to anything. mendelsohn, mozart, erik satie, avenged sevenfold, rise against, the last emperor, p!nk, soad, the academy is, the fray, anything really
