Tho i admit it was a great cover that Johnny cash did and Trent said himself he wrote the song Johnny cash made the song, i dont agree with that as i have seen Hurt sang live 3 times n 99percent on the Audience was Crying there hearts out and i'm proud to be one of them * +

he died a littke while after recording his version of hurt. i think it was just poignant and while the original is about losing people from drug addiction, johnny cashs version was about losing everyone from old age. i agree tho, so NIN a few years ago and was bought to tears by the song. now leona lewis on the other hand, she'd only bring me to tears because id be hammering nails into my eardrums so i dont have to listen to her! * +

Johnny cash died 3 months after the release on his version of hurt, he sang the song about his wife dying as it shows a lot of photo's of his wife in the video.. NIN will be the Only version i will listen too tho * +
