2112 is essential (if you don't have it already), I'd also heartily recommend (for starters) Exit Stage Left, Moving Pictures and Permanent Waves, but you can't go far wrong with any of their stuff prior to around 1990 - it's still good, but patchier afterwards. * +

On a side note - EVERY time I've gone out in my excellent 'Fly By Night' T-shirt (referred to elsewhere in this forum,), complete strangers have approached me and asked where I got it, and that's led on to mutual exchanges about how great Rush are, when you last saw them live etc. and I mean EVERY time.. I'm almost wary of putting it on, as I know I'll see people edging towards me in HMV.. :) * +
