I have to correct the title of that compilation. It's actually Extreme MUSIC From Africa. Do you know the title of the MERZBOW release you liked? If so, I may have heard it and then can direct you to similar recordings. AUBE is an artist you may enjoy too. He doesn't focus exclusively on harsh noise. He uses one sole sound source for each release -heartbeat, Tibetan temple bell, water etc. * +

For those of you who are curious or unfamiliar with noise, simply search Japanese Noise on YouTube. There are a lot of live videos. Look for the 2 part Incapacitants live video. It's intense. Wikipedia also has good article and history of Japanese Noise * +
