I use ableton live instead of cubase, but the principles will be the same. On each track you want to alter the EQ so that any frequencies you hear are nice and clear, while cutting out frequencies that won't be heard. E.g. Boasting the high end on hihats, while removing the low end frequencies. Then set all the track volumes to zero. Starting with your kick drum, turn it's volume up till it's at * +

Loudest without going into the red on the level meters. Repeat this with the rest of your percussion, then your bass line, then main synths/samples, then vocals. It's also worth looking for a master limiter VST. It turns up the volume of the entire track but prevents any tracks from peaking to high and distorting. There's some really good mastering tutorials if you have a search through google * +

Yeah, I produce mainly trance but I do other styles as well. On ableton its called EQ8, I'm jot sure what the equivalent on FL or cubase will be. The EQ will look like a flat line with a number of points along it that you can raise and lower to change the frequency levels. You'll want to do it on each track, it helps keep tracks clear and separate * +
