Although I should add on a cautionary note that any attempt to BS a jazz fan will almost certainly fail - there'll be certain reference points he'll know and you wouldn't be able to pick up for months or years.. better to be straight and impress him with the music you DO know about - never start a relationship on a lie. * +

Oh right, if you're going to get into jazz for his sake, brilliant, go for it, you couldn't be embarking on a more interesting voyage of discovery musically. Two jazz classics that must be heard: 'Kind of Blue' by Miles Davis and 'A Love Supreme' by John Coltrane. * +
