Their debut album is as diverse as an album can get, from punk to the Congolese kwasakwasa style of music.Even a bit of indie.This album is an experiment that went horribly right. * +

they're different....this makes a big difference.There style is new in that they've managed to explore and mix other music genres perfectly. * +

Tbh, they aren't doing anything new. Graceland and Remain in Light did rock meets afrobeat long ago. I'd much prefer a bit of Fela Kuti. And I'm not sure about the Yeasayer reference. While it is MUCH better than VW, they don't really have much afrobeat influence. I hear lots of Middle Eastern sounds and, strangely, Black Sabbath. * +
