any one knows where i can download free guitar effect software for PC? i have an electric guitar but i don't have guitar effect. it will b cheaper n fun to play guitar by pluged on to pc.. * +

Either buy a multiple fx pedal digitech, boss, korg etc, or you can download GTR solo waves solo software free for a whole year! at www.wavesgtr.com. but to use it youd need a usb to midi device, which will cost yo, not to mention a high performance computer that can handle the program. its cheaper to buy a multi fx pedal n record it through some decebt mics * +

there are bits of freeware out there but i recommend ikmultimedias range...waves isn't as good imo and there wup caused a load of grief (though it is getting better), also overloud have recently released some software, as have peavey * +

Thx 4 d information @axl. I mean software that doesn't need hardware at all so we can play directly pluging guitar on to pc, don't need many effect, just wana play in distorsion, like metalzone. That's it * +

if you're planning to plug your guitar to pc thru the sound card (sound in / mic), you're probably gonna get a delay on the signal, which is pretty bad if you're just going to jam. As Axl said, you'll probably need a usb device for it to work well. * +
