Has anyone tried adding an extra battery to emg setup? Noticed anything different in the sound? * +

Seems to sound lot brighter now, also noticed a bit of more hum. But definitely better sound. * +

Similiar question in a guitar mag. Answer: the EMG pickups n pre-amp circuits run at an extremely low current drain so there is no need to run more than 1 battery unless you want to. The advantage of running 2 9v (volt) batteries wired 4 18v is that u get slightly more headroom in your tone and the batteries will last longer. EMG products can handle up to 27v but you wont see any benefit over 18v * +

They say the same in couple of other forums. But I think that longer battery life applies only if they're wired in parallel instead of series like in this mod. * +

Yeah i assume how you wire them will make a difference in battery life * +
