For the guitarists here, A relative newcomer on the guitar amp scene, the bugera (made by behringer) line of combo amps are 120w, 2 or 3 channel all valve With 2x 12' 'vintage' speakers. With the combos starting at 999aud do u think its too good to be true? Ie, they might be dodgier than they appear? Let me put it this way, the fender or marshall equivalent would be WELL over 2 grand. Thoughts? * +

What are those 'vintage' speakers? What tubes are there? Is it point to point wired? Etc etc...depends on various factors. Sounds like a beginners amp but for that money you can definitely get a fender deluxe or deville, which are legendary models * +

its aimed at 'semi pros' and people like me who wana upgrade from the ol 10watt practise amp lol . The one im thinking of getting has four 6L6 power valves and six 12AX7 preamp valves. I doubt its point to point wired cos thatd put the price up a bit. As for the speakers, i took a look at the 'vintage' bugeras on my acoustic amp .theyr just paper cones with a another cone coming from the dustcap * +

As for the deluxe n deville, are they tube amps? Whats the wattage on em? * +

Wait, found em in a catalogue. The 40 watt deluxe is 1399aud and the 60 watt deville is 1799aud. Just a bit more than i can afford * +

Ah more? :/ saw em for less in the states, had deville myself, bought it for a thousand.. And thats a good tube choice so worth a look really. So the speakers are made by the same manufacturer...for the price it looks alright! Havent seen anything cheaper really * +

Thats what im wary of wstrom. I dont wana spend a grand on something that might blow up, say, if i turn it up to 7. Being that behringer are sort of, an 'entry level' brand. But ill do a bit of research before i get one. U can swap the 12AX7s for EL34s too. But if its not for me then id save up a bit more n have a look at the fenders. Cheers * +
