also look at the face-or sound board-ie,the bit with the hole... of the guitar and angle it against the light,check that it's in good shape,ideally flat,paying particular attention in front of and behind the bridge,alot of cheap guitars warp at these areas from the tension on the strings.check the edges of the body and the join where the neck meets,for cracks,repairs etc. * +

if your planning to learn guitar then be prepared to suck at it for least 6 months,takes a while to get any good at it,most people give up aftera week,stick with it u'll get there * +

and i didnt have any knowledge of guitar went alone no research just took loads of money and bought an acoustic for almost double the price ma friends got. to make sure its good and all ma frnds liked tat in the end * +

check the finger board for damage make sure the necks not damaged in anyway or loose best of buying new and a good make * +
