I've gotta N81 and the sound quality is the best I've ever heard. Since it has a 3.5mm jack, its very versatile...Once my headphones/speakers are plugged into it, it almost produces better sound quality than my laptop...Now thats something! :) *

As for the volume, its quiete loud...doesn't distort - Great quality! But it isn't the loudest. If I'm without my headphones or portable speakers, I can still rely on its own speakers...but once I reach a crowded noisy place, there's not much I can hear. *
