Today on yahoo music was posted about beyonc knowles formerly from the group destiny's child has changed her name, from beyonc knowles to SASHA FIERCE.. She said its her alter ego more glamorous. Now its been a trend the singers would change their names to re invent themselves. Whats your take on this? Is it effective? *

As I understand it (having flicked past the story on Planet Sound this morning) her new album will be called that, she's not actually changing her name. She's used the alias in the studio for some years apparently. Many artists book studio time under assumed names to prevent *U2 IN STUDIO!!* type stories leaking to the press. *
