yes its normal. rsd lite should be able to pick up the file based on its extension i.e mp3 * +

read is to backup. select all codegroups and backup the entire mp u have on ur phone. dnt go to write. thats used to flash back ur backup. go to firmware then browse to where your firmware that you want to flash is and flash it onto your phone *
