I installed 2.7.6 and neva had a problem. Try getting that. From my experience they wrk on both xp and windows 2000 * +

Usual motorola problem with contacts. Try with cleaning your contacts on the phone. Also when some app cant recognize ur fone, first download RSD Lite 3.0 or higher and it will recognize it, but dont mess up with it, its for flashing/flexing * +
