I used to enjoy a night at the local pub, have a sherbet or two,a meal, game of darts a chat with mates,, and have a gr8 night out, then hey presto! Along comes the wretched smoking ban, and fkd that all up forever, not the same any more, i have not been near a pub since. Thank you messrs blair and brown, .

The smoking Ban closed a lot of local pubs down .Most pubs have smoking areas outside now * +

A nice meal and a trip to the theatre would suit me nowadays (good) The days of dancing around your handbag in a club or pub are long gone now (sad) * +

The EU brought in that smoking ban, pubs, clubs and hotels were given the option whether they wanted to be non-smoking or not, a lot chose to be non-smoking and over a period of time a lot of pubs and clubs shut as they had no area for the smokers so people stopped using these places. A lot of hotels in the UK have smoking bedrooms but these are few and far between. As always, Europe sorted out the smoking ban better then us. *
