Im afraid she has, there are numerous sites that claim to be able to install later versions of ios on the old ipod touch but it still wont be much help cause your hardware is just too old and and even if you only download the old apps that you use to run on it chances are they still won't work or very glitchy as those old titles have also updated for later firmwares, you can try if you want but I would suggest to leave it as it is and use it as a mp3 player which after all thats what an ipod is * +
