So just got one of these bad boys as a Xmas gift, loving it so far, last iPad I used was the 3, and when I got mine I thought it was the 3 until I noticed the Lightning connector, any other iPad owners here? What apps would you recommend? * +

I have an iPad 3 and I use it for DJ'ing and making music. If that's your thing I can recommend the following apps... djay for iPad - virtual turntables, ipolysix by korg - a synthersizer and drum machine and sequencer. ielectribe drum machine by korg, iMs20 - another synth, drum machine and sequencer by korg.... * +

Reactable - a fun synth based on the hardware where blocks are placed on the table and connected by virtual lines. The blocks can do different things like there's blocks for audio sample playback, filters, sequencers, wave generators, delays and many others. Depending how you connect them on the table and rotate them you can alter your sounds. * +

SunrizerXS virtual analogue synth for the iPad. Another wonderfull software synth that looks quite similar to the Roland JP8000 that came out about yr 2000. Features lots of controls for every parameter and is controllable with an external MIDI interface that connects to the iPad. * +

GarageBand - if you have ever used this on a Apple Mac well it's a sort of cut down version for jamming and recording your ideas. It features virtual software instruments and can record audio tracks too. You can edit your playing and export your finished mix. Bit like Auria but more limited. * +

Loopy HD - this is an audio looper. You record short phrases of audio such as guitar riffs or beat boxing in each of the circles. You can have upto 12 loops playing at once with different sounds you have recorded. It's idea as a performance tool or for recording quick song ideas. * +
