I have a problem when trying to install 4.3.3 to my iphone 4. I tried updating from 4.2.1 to 4.3.3 and the update didn't complete properly, and what I mean is the bar on the screen went up about two thirds and stopped. I then got an error code 1013 and my iphone wouldn't do anything at all apart from show the connect to itunes picture. I then tried to go back to 4.2.1 but the same thing happened with the progress bar. * +

I then tried numerous times to install both firmwares with as many different methods I could find. I tried the tinyumbrella exit recovery and the fix recovery options, I tried ireb and followed every guide I could find on youtube. The only way i found to get my phone working again is by trying to install 4.2.1 and then going to the latest FW 4.3.5.. So now I am stuck on the latest FW. * +

I should say that I had never used 4.3.3 before but for some reason I have the shsh blobs and thought everything would work fine.. but that's normal, right?.. I was upgrading at first. I did incorrectly choose 'update' when I first tried updating and using tinyumbrella and I didn't have my phone in DFU mode, just recovery.. My bad, I know that was wrong now. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem might be? confused * +

Try using fixrecovery43(Google it)that should get you out the recovery loop,it did for me recently. * +

Thanks for the advice but before I try this can someone please tell me if it's normal that the update fails at two thirds on the progress bar? It seems to me like the first part of the update, called restore in itunes, is just copying over the firmware. The second part, verifying, is checking the files integrity and then the last part (where my phone fails at) is finalizing the update. The last part takes the longest amount of time (when it works). * +
