You don't, just go to iTunes on phone and press ringtones on bottom of screen, press to listen before u buy, * +

There's a Pc app where you make your own, cut them and then import to iTunes. Very nice and easy to use, it's called iRinger * +

Xilisoft iPhone ringtone maker is another pc app that allows you to export to both phone and iTunes,really easy to use...download it via torrent or something similar. * +
