I bought my 3gs last yr..the shop said it was factory unlocked.how would i know if it is factory unlocked? I dont c blackrain or cydia on it..but then again,cant they just uninstall those apps after jailbreakin the phone.i want2find out so that i Can upgrad2 OS4 * +

It being unlocked has nothing to do with Cydia. Jailbreaking and unlocking are two seperate things. * +

Factory unlocked means that you an put any simcard into it.. If you're unsure as to whether it is unlocked try putting in a different simcard on a different network.. * +

All sim cards work on my phone, just wanted to be sure its not jailbroken, there is no sign of any hack tools on the phone,im guessin ther is no sure way of findin out if its jailbroken or not * +

Sounds unlikely that your phones jailbroken,no Cydia on your springboard.Download the pc app iPhone browser and connect your phone via your sync cable and it will tell you if your phones jailbroken or not but it doesn't sound as though it is to me. * +
