hello i want to jailbreak a friends iphone 3g running on version 3.1.2 (7D11) .. i have searched a bit now and i see that if the phone turns off you need a pc to jailbreak it again. is there any newer solution or this info is still up to date? thanks * +

Depends on baseband or something but iF it',s a 3G and not 3GS then i would have thought it would be ok as i got my 3GS back in July and have no problem switching my phone on and off.I would have thought it would only effect those that came out the shop with 3.1.2 fw preinstalled but wait for someone else more in the know with that problem to answer. * +

Hello Stef, yeah if it's a 3G it should be fine. Only the new 3GS's with the new iboot are tethered jailbreaks pal, just run blackrain on it and all should be good mate * +

The tether jailbreak thing is so simple. Takes no time to reboot with blackra1n. * +
