I got the 320gb model the other day and the 2 games i got with it take an age to download the updates. Twisted metal took about 5 mins to update. Is that what ps3 updates are normally like * +

Yes. 360 updates are often 10-20MB or something. PS3 updates can be 1GB plus a lot of the time. * +
