Many games use actual places for the scenarios, some so apparently highly detailed. But just how accurate are they to the average Joe Gamer? Let's start with the most frequently used city in gaming, New York, home to such games as crysis 2, prototype 2, gta4, spiderman and much more * +

I'm inclined to believe the bigger areas and landmarks like time square, central park and liberty island but how accurate is the smaller areas, anyone ever been to new York or London and thought 'this area is spot on in the game'? * +

I remember parts of the getaway being quite accurate * +

GT5 pretty much nails the city tracks spot on especially London where you can pick a pub out the scenery and it actually exists. Project Gotham isn't far behind either. * +

Dr. Breen said it best. Welcome, welcome to City 17. You have been relocated to one of our finest urban centers... I know it is not a real city, but it could pa55 for St. Petersburg in ruins. grin * +

the main area in yakuza games is very similar to the district of Shinjuku that its based on, kabukicho, but people dont stop you for a fight every 20 seconds in the real place, they stop you every 20 seconds to try and get you into hostess bars instead. * +

and the games dont show the ''cool'' kids cool sitting outside of LAWSON convenience store, the uk equivalent would be a gang of ex-chavs in chinos sitting outside of spar. *
