For anyone who disliked Alan wake, kindly off because you ain't gonna be surprised here. Mr wake is back and this time he appears to be trapped in an episode of Night Springs (you may of remembered the tv episodes from the first game), his enemy this time is his evil doppelganger known as Mr Scratch, he is the man Alan isn't....outrageous, chaining,daring, dangerous and downright psychotic * +

this time round, Alan finds himself in the dry lands of Arizona battling again the dark that plagued him in Alan Wake, enemies are more in numbers and the game mechanics work the same as AW and while American Nightmare is not a direct sequel, It certainly provides a fantastic substitute for those wanting more Wake * +

sadly, the game does reveal several flaws, from the relentless fetch missions doled out by a single NPC on every level, the bad attention to detail in certain areas and the empty feeling of the getting, you can all to forget that this is still only just an download title, with the bulk of the gameplay laying in its campaign, you should be finishing the 3 chapters in 5-6 hours, still impressive when stacked up against other forty pound titles in the past that failed to clock even five hours * +

as well as the odd tv to watch, m cript pages to collect, a new story and some new firepower, American Nightmare introduces a brand new mode where you battle enemies against a ten minute timer, originally titled 'fight til dawn', this arcade mode has you ducking and diving, shooting and surviving til the sun comes up adding more for your money. this game is stand alone and does not build on the previous story well. EXpect a few old faces like the senile rockers or that fat Barry * +
