When it comes to costs of graphics cards you can't really directly compare them to consoles either TBH. Whenever you buy a card you have bought something that has been sold at a profit by the retailer with tax on top, who has been sold it at a profit by the parter who manufactured the board that the GPU sits on and packaged it and shipped it. The GPU has been made by AMD or Nvidia who sold it....at a profit....to the board partners. In other words the retail price of the card itself is a lot * +

more than what the thing cost to manufacture and come out of the semi conductor. The retail cost of the board might be 250 pounds to the consumer with tax but the OEM cost of the GPU to someone like microsoft or sony ordering down 10 million of these things a year to jam into their consoles would be more like 70-80 quid or so for an expensive big die. RSX cost sony about 80 quid a pop when PS3 was first built. * +

its a low-end card by the time it launches they better go for a higer card or sell the consoles almost the same price as the older generation. * +

a newer generation used to push resolution and other graphix components way further and that can barely handle the 1080p the same as the current gen facepalm *
