With the new red faction game on its way and playing the demo i thought i'd get stuck back into guerilla. For those not in the know, yes its set in the red faction universe, no its not a fps and yes there's still a lot of freeform destruction. So what is it? In one sentence its 'gta meets total recall meets battlefield' the open worldness of gta with the mars backdrop and the destruction of * +

..battlefield thrown in. There are vehicles, weapons, plenty of explosive weapons and a fat open world to get stuck into. Been out a while now and a great tribute as to what THQ can do(ignoring homefront that is) a great soundtrack keeps things feeling tense and a multiplayer which was not exactly brilliant, kept the game going for a bit * +

You play Alec Mason, a guy who comes to mars for an honest days work but inadvertedly witnessess his brothers murder and becomes roped into the events of the liberation of mars. Can be picked up for a fiver in most places. Anyway i'm off because my mum's calling me to tell me about blood x-factor facepalm * +

Got boring fast yawn problem is the world, it seems sort of....empty. I guess you could argue thats the point, but it doesn't help it from feeling very hollow and lacking attention to fine detail. If it were a sculpture it would be made out of lego. Sure you can make something that you can recognise, but that doesn't make it lifelike *
