I hav gotten tired of deletin games in my blood 40gb ps3 dat shows only 16gb....anyway im tinkin of upgrading d hd 2 120gb or higher but i wanna ask u guys 1st if d old ps3 phat can accomodate d large hds n if there wud be any repercussions in doin so....tanx * +

yea it would work- i did it in my old ps3- best thing to do is youtube how to do it- its very quick- almost as simple as taking the hardrive out of the clip then insert the new one-- im pretty sure 500gb hard drives are cheap as chips around 40-50 quid * +

copy and paste that into ebay and you have your new hard drive- WD ones are good for ps3- and around 40 quid for 500gb * +

You can use any 2.5''(laptop) SATA hardrive that has a height of 9.5mm. Drives that have a height of 13mm will not fit. Depending on the size of your nand you might need to download your firmware to USB for installing after you put the HDD in. Consoles with a smaller nand store part of the firmware on the HDD. You will need to backup your saves or do a full backup from within system settings. * +
