program that ignores the stated file size and just copys the data verbatum. then when you take the newly burned disk it will read normaly but because of the way dvd's read disk sizes it gets fooled into thinking the file is bigger that what it actualy is so cant be copied.. there is a simple way round it and that is read the actual file size from the files own internal settings. not the marster * +

master file table... which is the normal way of doing it. if you copied the disk file by file using the files actual size you would find that the space taken is actualy no more than a normal dvd. like i say they have just adjusted the master boot record to show its bigger than it actualy is... simple but effective copy protection. simple to what we used to encounter on the amiga. * +

i used to write intros and demos. go into the mbr of the disk that id copied it to and change it so it read 0 bytes. this ment that any file copyer would just read the first sector and think it had finished... stopping any1 from ripping my intros... just wait till m.s. start using fantom and fuzzy sectors... they are great fun and a pain in the to get around... * +

the last 2 need hardware mods to bypa55 and correct. but work perfectly fine when there on original disks. only when there copied do they become a problem... so expect to be paying 50-60 pounds to have your 360 dvd drives chipped in the not to distant future. * +
