because they used to suffer image burn if a still image or parts of an image stayed the same on screen for a long time. Pretty much how games can be then, with HUDs and menus etc. The problem is mostly gone now * +

but i saw one for 500 quid, samsung.. big tv man... 50 inch i think it was.. i thought wow but it said its a plasma... * +

But the refresh rate on them is generally higher than lcd meaning they should be better for games. * +

Look at reviews for the set if ya thinking of buying. Im gonna buy a set in next few months probably but not that size, its just to big for where i am at the moment so 32'' is the likely size im gonna get, a good one though. * +
