i recently decide to try out PS1 games on my PS3. I tried Final Fantasy VII. Now, is it just me or does this game look ugly on the PS3...im using PS3 SLIM and if im right its backward compatible through emulation which is not as good as hardware backward compatibility but the PS3's power i'd expect near perfect emulation especially knowing the emulation is being done by sony * +

can anyone tell me why this is...also im playing Finally Fantasy VII from t'd disk...to be fair, with the smooth option turned on the character models i think looks better since there edges are not so jagged as when played on the PS1 but the pre-rendered backgrounds look quite blurry for what i remember...and no in not using a HD tv so its not that the STANDARD DEFINITION image is stretched out * +

And the games weren't designed to be played on a widescreen tv either, so they will look 'stretched', and considerably worse on an HDTV * +

but i've seen better emulation than this on PCs...and said PCs were in no way as powerful as the PS3 * +

With older machines your best playing on the original hardware on a sdtv.. . I am still waiting for a hd tv that has a sd option. * +

I think that's the first thing gr8guy has said that isn't utter .....I'm checking for signs of the Rapture....could be a hint that the End Times are upon us.... * +
