The sets are the same as last time-28'' crt through rgb vs 42'' full hd through hdmi but this time the game was gears 2, a game that really should show huge benefits through hd, but does it? Well the first thing i noticed on the hd set was how crisp things are, characters are a bit sharper and generally everything else really, but. . . Poor textures here and there did stand out like a sore thumb * +

. . . There seemed to be a lot of fogging and also the pic was rather dark, jaggies also noticeable but not too bad though. So now over to the sd set playing the same game. Well first thing i noticed believe it or not was just how vibrant and alive everything seemed compared to hd, colours seem so much richer and their where no noticeable jaggies, the fogging seemed less . . * +

But obviously things where not as sharp. On the hd set things sort or had a hmmm fake look where as on the sd set everything seems much natural. It was not an extensive tests though. . . The proper tests will come when i actually get hd. I wanna test sd games on one, apparently they are terrible but i dont know. * +

You just have sub HD eyes whereas i have ultra HD eyes. * +

I remember on some sections of gears 2 when i first played it on sd i was very impressed. Now i seen quite a lot on hd and while some bits are impressive, its generally not been as impressive as on a sd tv, sounds weird but its true. Now i wanna try shift, i know its not the best looking game but i know it inside out and will be able to spot everything. Will take it down at some point to test. * +
