i have a PS3(slim) with firmware 3.30 and i want to know if i can run any emulators on it without any modifications to the system...if so can someone advise how or point me in the direction where i can get the info...thanks in advance * +

You will not be able to run emulators without Jailbreaking your PS3 first. If you want to jailbreak, it is very easy to do. Do not upgrade your system firmware to 3.56, Jailbreaking is not available for thisFW or above. And then google PSX Scene for further info * +

are there any risks to jailbreaking the system cause i remember a game i have for the PS3 came with a firmware update on the disk and i could play the game until i updated the firmware...are there things i need to take into consideration and will it affect the operations of other features like trophies and so on and also playstation network access * +

Be prepared for having no PSN access, not being able to synch trophies, no online gaming, potentially voided warranty (depends on if you can flash back to official FW) and maybe some other stuff I missed. You can still download game updates as normal and use the Internet browser etc... * +

Chance of bricking is the same very small chance you have when you flash using official PS3 firmware. I don't think there has been even one reported bad flash using kmeaw's custom firmware. * +
