I'm thinking of buying a PS4.I read recently that the console can't play Blue ray, DVD's or even its own games without a 300 mb download. Is this true? I don't have any home broadband internet. *

I'd be surprised if it's true now, especially of the newer 1TB model, would think they all have as recent a firmware update as possible when they were manufactured. Not sure if any of that was true, there was a firmware update on launch day though. *

You can play any ps4 game that doesnt require playstation plus to play without an update. If you want to update it to add blu ray playback capabilities, you can ask a friend to pre load the firmware to a usb drive and install it yourself or just buy one off ebay. *
