Vita is a lot better, it has the better mixture of games esp the type parallel with the ps3/xbox 360. The better online capabilities. The 3DS hasn't really advanced much from the previous Nintendo handhelds, the same type of games. Even the 3D gimic was a was ruined when they had to bring out the 2DS. You could buy a dsi cheaper and get scandisc games cheap these days... * +

Wipeout 2048.......one of the most solid reasons to own the Vita..... the fury add on s**ts on most games graphically and gameplay. Even looks better then several next gentitless.....and this is a PSP game * +

As an early adopter of both I agree with the sentiment that it depends what he is looking for. Vita is a home for really good Indie titles- Hotline Miama, Guacamelee and Thomas was Alone are all fabulous and available for under a tenner on PSN. There are a lot more Indies than AAAs. 3DS however has a terrible store and no Indies But excellent retail titles * +

My boy has a vita, when it was new he was all amazed with it. Its barely been touched for months. Whereas he is on his 3ds constantly with his sisters. So I guess it depends on age. *
