na. its nowhere near as bad as the MTG adaptations. this is pure transformers in the G1 era. there's two cybertron games out. war for cybertron and fall of cybertron. WFC takes place during the closing days of the decepticon and autobot war. the campaign is split into two. you can play as both sides in unique missions. the first game let's you choose from three transformers each level. so for instance, first level gives you brawl, barricade or megatron to choose from each with their own powers * +

you can play as megatron, barricade, brawl, starscream, skywarp, thundercracker, soundwave, breakdown and slipstream. on the autobots there's optimus prime, bumblebee, ratchet, ironhide, silverbolt warpath, jetfire air raid, arcee. the multiplayer is, or was pretty solid. you can play the campaign in co op with an online survival mode called escalation * +

fall of cybertron is fantastic though, you are forced to play as the character you're given but each level is built around that character. it introduces the dinobots, insecticons, combaticons and the two titans-metroplex and tripticon. This game is about how they escape cybertron and the last few hours of the civil war. Split into factional campaigns again and has upgrades for weapons. * +

high moon studios have worked closely with hasbro on both games and have been given permission to include things never seen before. it is darker then the cartoons, more gripping then all three films combined and a thousand times better then the game. could probably snag both for under 20 quid. * +

the multiplayer on FOC is still very popular. you can build your own transformer for online mode although HMS took the pi*s by selling dlc robot parts. with or without it though its still great. if you are a transformers fan and found the movie games awful then buy these. * +
