Another pleasant surprise of 2012 come's in the form Arkane's supernatural stealth first person sandbox, dishonored. Despite winning over 50 awards it still managed to stay out the limelight in a respectable way, much to say it hasn't been given the same hype as halo 4, black ops 2 or assassins creed 3 it's still managed to draw just as much, if not more positive feedback then the above. * +

set in a fictional city in a time unknown, the city of dunwall is an industrious techno-steampunk world filled with the many exaggerations of high trousers, low chins and glorious, but structurally unsound-esque buildings. set in the grip of a devastating rat plague, you are Corvo, the once trusted bodyguard of the empress, wrongfully framed for her death and conspiring to hide her daughter and heiress to the throne. this intro also serves as a bit of a training mission * +

you are then henceforth, thrown into the dirtiest prison for six months to await your execution. why you wait this long remains a mystery whilst finally getting outside help remains even more a mystery, at this point. you are then whisked to the most diseased, wretched part of the city where you are to be used as a tool by those with a more noble cause. * +

the main protagonist of the game is another half life and bioshocky type lead, never uttering a word and always doing as his told without protest. the two previous mentioned games also serve as fantastic examples to the games outlook as it has a very bioshock infinite world coupled with that city-17 enclosure feel as the same voice bleats from the city wide speakers. in fact, fans of bioshock will pick this game up seriously quick as the characters and weapons are slightly more extravagant * +

so, the game has you sent on various missions to assassinate. how you choose your path is up to you, you are given a variety of weapons and gadgets to aid you, as well as a bevy of supernatural powers ranging from blink where you teleport from one place to another, possession, bending time, swarm and many more. Add upgrades, witchcraft, multiple paths, executions and stealth to the mix and you're set for a deep game with bags of replayability * +

you could finish this in probably 6 or 7 hrs or 20 to 30 hrs depending on how you want to play it.i think its a good game.so many ways to get to the objective. * +

I'm only scratching the surface of this game right now. I wasn't even gonna bother but my shop knocked a tenner off and I couldn't say no. try not to be put off by the rumours that its only 6 hours long. it could be six hours long if you set it to easy and murdered your way through the game. but where would the fun be in that? dishonored is built to be explored and completed with care. ramp the difficulty up and do some exploring, netsky's got the right idea * +
