Very impressed. If the 80s film genre existed today, it would be like this. 18 rated and not afraid to p*ssy foot around violence. Not as gory as say, robocop but satisfying enough. I hope the same director takes a stab at the new robocop film. Society has succumbed too much to 12A and 15 rated films, take AVP, Prometheus, terminator or predators. Films born out of 18 rated 80s Gore, hopelessly reduced to the stuff of teenage children. * +

cast your mind back to robocop...violently, exciting and downright cheesy in areas but still r*pes most modern films. the original judge dredd was even aimed at a younger generation. the fact is, you cannot take a violent comic and turn it into a film for younger teenage viewing in a sad attempt to pull in more viewers. yes, dredd probably never broke any records but it'll be held in high regard by cult viewers, vets of the 80s and those who enjoy a bit of grit with their violence. 8/10 * +

Good movie, looks like they got the idea right off The Raid:Redemption though which was a much better action film * +

one point, '' you cannot take a violent comic and turn it into a film for younger teenage viewing'' tho I agree in general about 18 certificate films, it was exactly teenagers and younger who bought 2000a.d. * +
