I wasn't basing it on adaptions, I've read nearly every King book. *spoilers* Everyone knows King's good points by now, giving depth and a sense of verisimilitude within themes involving fantastical creatures from aliens to vampires, and (at times, irksome, Under The Dome) attention to detail. Bar the classics, King can't write a decent ending to save his life, he even screwed up my baby that is The Dark Tower. The ending of TDT was just awful, so awful, it pains me to even think about it. * +

The Stand, another favourite, a fokking Hand of God from the sky detonates the nuke. As for Cell, oy. King is mediocre, he even defends his inability to write a good ending by saying it's about the journey, what a load of tripe. I dunno, maybe it was when he got ploughed by that van, that was when he lost his mojo. *
