the story is about to be turned into a film. the books are intended for young teens, which are spin offs from Patterson's earlier books, when the wind blows and the lake house. not sure if the films will be aimed at younger audience but I'm definitely interested from what I saw of the plot * +

Max, Fang, Iggy, Nudge, the Gasman, and Angel. Six kids who are pretty normal - except that they're 98 percent human and 2 percent bird. They grew up in a lab, living like rats in cages, but now they're free. Aside, of course, from the fact that they're prime prey for Erasers - wicked wolf-like creatures created simply to destroy the flock. * +

the first two books WTWB and TLH are a shade darker and more emotional and given that Patterson's previous book to films have included along came a spider, kiss the girls and now Alex Cross I'd expect better then a young teen film from him. Done right, maximum ride could be a powerful film but I'm expecting it to be more in the vein of Harry potter. * +

James Patterson doesn't even write all his own books. mostly he does a rough outline of what happens in the book and someone else writes it. *
