updating it wont taks away your operators download limit (if thats what it is), it will only install a newer version of your NETWORKS firmware (software), what you will need to have done is debrand the phone and install Sony Ericsson firmware that wont have a download limit, PS: dont you have a memory card in the phone? * +

I also had a sony E k700i an i couldnt download a file larger than 300 but i figured out a trick its all in the default settings on internet connections just change http to https and it should download any larger files as you pls * +

It is common problem of k700,k750,d750,w800 no meter who is your operator. In internet setings you must set your internet protocol to HTTP mode,default seting is WAP MODE. * +
