Bluetooth can send ANY type of file (literally), it just depends on what type of files the sending and receiving devices support... What bluetooth can and can't do however, is determined by which profiles it supports. There's fax (send and receive facsimile messages), hands-free (use a wireless hands-free headset), object exchange (send and receive files)... * +

Headset (listen to audio through bluetooth headphones), dial-up/modem (use a device as a modem), print (need I explain?) and others. The is also a custom profile, which allows manufacturers 2 create unique bluetooth devices (such as Sony Ericsson's bluetooth car). There aren't really any limitations on the custom profile, so realistally-speaking, bluetooth can be used for pretty much anything! * +
